I wanted to put this out there to see if anyone else had errors associated with this set.

If you plan to sell it do it now, the first one usually gets the best price.

In regards to selling the set, I don't plan to. My father and I have most of the Canada PL sets plus varieties and errors. I am just curious if this is a one-time error or are there others out there. I am not to concerned if others are found and mine may not be worth as much. It's still another error to add to the collection!

That's cool enjoy it, but this is only a packaging error, if none other is found it would be special.

Well I guess the 1999 Nunavut set would also be considered a packaging error, but it is a cool set to have and there are a number of them out there. It would be nice if the set I posted here is the only one.

The plastic looks warped along the bottom, does it show signs of being tampered with?

Are you kidding me member 'purelywasted'? My father and I ordered two of these sets from the RCM. One of them was this set and the other one did not have the error. The package doesn't look anywhere near tampered with in the picture. If you want to discredit someone's find I suggest you post somewhere else.

The 1999 toonie is an error coin, a mule the wrong reverse was used.

Maybe I over reacted a bit. My apologies. My response should have just been that there is absolutely no evidence of tampering and left it at that. If you want clearer pictures of the sealed edges around the 2012 loonies, I can provide that in another post.

Thank you for that clarification John100. It's been so long since I bought that set, I mistakenly thought that the toonie was supposed to belong in a another set in the same year.

Quote: Maybe I over reacted a bit. My apologies. No worries, there are so many frauds and forgeries out there and without knowing where you purchased and seeing the not flat/warped/bent/melted/light distorted plastic where the error is, I think it is important to ask. If it was a fake and recently purchased, you may have been able to make a claim and get your money back. As it is genuine, you are in luck and have a nice addition to your collection. No need for extra photos, not looking to purchase.
