This is normally out of character for me, but I saw this coin today and just had to have it:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ANCIENT-IND...2720?txnId=0

The general design scheme checks out, but I couldn't find one on wildwinds with the same bust or squished legend under Menander I.

Anyone familiar with these issues care to give a pointer?

Nice buy Apollodotus II, 110-80 BC, I believe this is SB 7673. Typical condition for later reign issues.

After a long shipping period and an even longer battle to get the post to actually deliver my mail, I have this coin and a sister coin in my hands:

Impulse-Buy---AR-Indo-Greek Impulse-Buy---AR-Indo-Greek

The coin on the right I got for a little cheaper than the first, simply because it was cheap and I plan to flip it.

I did notice that in addition to the slight portrait differences, the monograms on the reverse are different. Are these mintmarks? Assayer's or mint-master's initials?

The coin both appear to be Apollodotus II. The marks are monograms which have not been fully explained, however the monogram on the first coin is usually seen on coins from the Taxila mint.
