The anti mold patches are similar to those little "do not eat" packets that contain silica gel. It's not actually part of the box or anything.

LoL I imagined it was something imbedded in the box itself. I get a laugh out of these placed in beef jerky packets, especially labelled do not eat.

It's better than decent at $30.

Going by the comments here, they should of offered a choice, with one being just a plain box with no pics of folders. Then people could choose between the 2 boxes. For me seeing in hand will be the deciding factor. The thing is to find the coins now, as they could be spread between 4-5 boxes. I packed everything up last year. Only left out a hand full of silver coins to admire. I have been satisfying the urge looking at bank rolls. I really enjoy my loupe!

Now here is the problem. Do I take all of my coins out of the plastic envelopes with the UPC code and put them in the new case, or leave them as is? I have the new case, should I put the coins in it or just them as is and keep the case with them?

I've easily opened them without damaging the barcode sticker, just be very careful.

Disappointed with how small the box is. Can't put in any of the longer covers underneath the tray. Also now I need a second set of 2013 20 for 20s as I had those in a cover that RCM made just for that year's coins...

Quote: Oh yeah, and the anti-mold patches included with the box should tell us something about well the Mint thinks this case will age. Ya these were likely made in China out of gods knows what, I guess the RCM is thinking /worrying ahead. Chinese Drywall comes to mind. Note: I don't know if these were made in China/or some other country, so don't quote me on that but seems a likely conclusion. Would be nice if they were actually made in Canada but could we here in Canada make this cheap enough for them to make a profit?

"mad in Chi "
That's when it's so cheaply made, even the "made in China" stamp is impossible to read. These boxes seem decent for the price, regardless where they were made.

I saw the case my uncle got today, I cant believe people spend $30 on these. IMO they are junk. Cheap paper, and no thought put into it (eg. cant fit all sleeves, has one 2016 coin, and those ugly printed folder pictures. )
This is just my opinion of course.....but I would rather pay a bit more for a nice case, made of wood or something, that's not tacky looking....and a bit bigger. I would feel embarrassed to show off these nice coins in that thing.....

It's $30. I wouldn't expect a really awesome box for that price. I'm happy with it. Sorry to hear you're not. To each his own I guess.
