Whassis?-|-Roman-Bronze-Follis-Of-Constantine-I

This coin came my way today, and I'm quite frankly horrible at identifying ancients. Hopefully the picture is clear enough for someone to help me identify it? Thanks in advance!

We're supposed to be putting unknown coins in "ID Required" now.

It's a late Roman bronze follis of Constantine I. Obverse: IMP CONSTANTINVS PF AVG. Reverse: the Sun-god Sol standing, SOLI INVICTO COMITI (the Invincible Sun, the Companion-Protector). I can't be sure about the mintmarks, though. My best guess: Arles, France. The control-marks M-F in field, mintmark in exergue looks something like ARL[gamma], are recorded for this type (listed in RIC as Arles #102 - see the Wildwinds pages for Constantine I - particularly this coin:

I'm still not sure of my deductions regarding the mintmarks - there could be key varieties missing from the Wildwinds database.

Sap, the variety of your knowledge astounds me. I haven't figured out the trick for working Wildwinds just yet. This is just my 3rd ancient.

But, with your lead, I came up with the R - F in the fields, giving me a R * F in the exergue. Rome mint.

That's it.

See? Not that hard, is it?

Roman coins of this period actually minted in Rome itself seem to be trickier to find around here than from many of the other mints. Well, not in identifiable condition, anyway. I don't have a decent "Made in Rome" coin for my "One From Each Mint" collection.
