Quote: is this a standalone or part of a series ? I was wondering that myself. Then I noticed this question on the mint's website, which was answered with "There is no set planned for this item at this time."

You're welcome, sherwooddavid. I was going to wait for a possible price drop, but then decided to buy it last night.
I've noticed that many dealers state the mintage as 10,000, not 6,500, as advertised by the mint.

Glad you mentioned that because I wasn't sure why I also thought the mintage much higher than 6,500. RCM is indicating it's now 82% sold. Just an observation, I notice this coin has some similarities to the Pysanka. - might be considered feminine to some, eggs/pink blossoms. - approaching an occasion - Easter/Mother's day - theme is symbolic of life, egg/cherry blossom - especially meaningful to a specific ethnic group Ukraine/Japanese

I ordered it yesterday from my rep and he hasn't got back to be yet with a confirmation. I hope he didn't take a long weekend and the coin sells out before he gets back. I should have just ordered it online ! Sometimes this Rep stuff is a pain in the butt !! lol

A couple weeks ago, when I got my advanced notice, it came with a video presentation by my rep. In the video he mentioned the 10,000 mintage on the Cherry Blossom coin, but in the body of the text he corrected himself, and confirmed the mintage to be 6,500 only. Ordering online, and you get a confirmation, and you're good to go.

If I had ordered online would have got one.

Ahhh...so that explains why even European dealers have the mintage at 10,000. Thanks for the info. That really had me puzzled. I don't think we'll be seeing this coin in the Blowout section at CA with the other RCM coins in the future. I'm thinking of ordering two more from Gatewest coins. With 5% off and $6.50 shipping it works out to be $65 per coin. IMO this would make a nice gift instead of flowers. The cost is about the same, but the coin will last much longer.
