Hello,
Picked this gal up @ an antique shop for a song. What's going on with the reverse? None of my other Braided Hair cents display these markings.
The bumps appear to be rising out of the rim.

I would guess that was a jewelry piece and the bezel made those marks.

looks like it started to be a jewelry piece and a bezel was installed at one point..

Well isn't that a bummer.
I admittedly noticed the marks prior to purchasing...knew there was a good chance it was PMD. Only a $9.00 tag so I rolled the dice.

I keep a separate book of different types of PMD and 'errors' that aren't errors for reference and education.
