What is the grading opinion for the pictures below? Don't know if item is worth the money or not. Unfortunately these are best pictures I can get.

Impossible to tell. Photos are too small and not sharp.

Guessing from what I can see in the pictures, I'd say that the coin is fairly high grade, perhaps an EF. There seems to be a fair amount of detail on the shield. The line down the middle of the shield is due to the strike and typical for these coins.

Let me flip this around since we can't really answer your question because of the size and lack of detail in your pictures. How does your coin compare to this one when you look at it in-hand? NGC graded this one MS-63 which is fairly accurate. If your piece has this much detail with a little bit of wear and no other damage, it's probably an EF.

Appears to be at least VF, if not higher. But those photos can't determine anything more specific.

Bill - your pictures are MS, especially for the notoriously weakly struck 51O.

highest points on the obverse are the edges of the shield where the star points meet up. On the reverse it's the edge detail in the C at 3 o'clock, the top of diamond at 9 o'clock followed by the orbs.
