I was going through an old jewelry box of my mothers and found this old Lincoln coin in it. I've never seen one like this and was curious what type of coin this is. It doesn't seem to have any type of date on it either, besides the dates of when he was POTUS.

Thanks for any help.

to CCF. Is it the size of a quarter? Looks like a gas station medal. Gas stations used to give away these when you filled up. You could put together a whole set, there was also an album they gave you.

John, thanks for the reply.

It's actually just smaller than a penny. I didn't compare the sizes yet, but it seems like it's in between the sizes of a penny and a dime.

As you can see in the pics it has the Eagle on the back and Abe on the front. It's a little hard to read, but on the front it has the text Abraham Lincoln at the top, stars down both sides, and then 16th President and the years at the bottom.
Rest in Peace

John was in the right ballpark. These were promotional tokens given away by Skelleys, one per child per visit. They are common with very few collectors.

Moxking, thanks for the info. What is/was Skelleys?

Any idea when they did this type of stuff. I compared it to a penny and a dime last night and it's just smaller than a dime.

My 10 year old and I where looking for some info on it band can't even find a picture of it anywhere.

I found some stuff related to a Skelly Oil but nothing about any coins/tokens that they did. I did find some from Shell that are similar but are still different and are bigger. It's up that Skelly Oil was from Tulsa, OK which would make sense for us to find it since my family is from OK.

Just trying to find the details of this and if it's a set, where was the set from.
