first

Second your father must have served in the 26th Inventry regiment of the First Infintry Division 'The Big Red One"
An historic and honored division. Men wearing the Big Red One fought just about everywhere in Europe.

Your token looks to be a momento of some sort for something that happened in October 1945. I hope it was the first post war celebration of Octoberfest!

You should be proud of your father, if he served durring the war years he took a walking tour of Europe the hard way.

Organization day is designed to give all soldiers' and their family members a opportunity for fun and games. Since the war was over and the troops were still in country. It was a day off etc.
http://armystrongstories.com/blogge...ization-day/ a current one you can try Google for more specific info
There was one on ebay that sold for $20.00 which a person looking to assemble family history would pay, speaking as a general token collector probably worth half that. Military collectors also might pay a little more.
