The Royal Mint just released a new bullion coin recently which is the first in a series of ten.In my opinion this coin looks fantastic ....anybody know any specifics about these coins mintage wise or is it unlimited? Thanks,WJ

I wonder how much detail might be visible to the naked eye on the 1/4 oz. It's a lovely and unique design to be sure.

For those in Australia... I've mailed PerthBullion asking if, and when, they will have the 1/4 oz in stock. I'll pass on the information here when I get a response.

So PerthBullion got back to me and said at this stage they are just holding the 1 oz. Boo! I can't afford that :(

Man why did I think they were saying it was 10 oz lol. I think the 1oz were too close in the Ad lol.
Well... I wouldnt mind a 1 oz of gold like that. So long as gold remains in an up trend I can keep collecting.
I am interested in the quarter ounce tho.

@Yup,1oz Gold. From my research I do believe the 1/4oz gold & 2oz Silver are released a week after Easter holidays. And it sounds like they will come in capsules but not the 1oz gold

@Yup, I don't buy from APMEX for a few reasons and one is shipping is to expensive for us Canadians. I buy from SilverGoldBull. Anything over $500.00 is free shipping! Not to get off topic but I just wanted to let you know I've been following your posts in what happens to gold and silver for two years and wanted to let you know Thank you for taking the time to post your knowledge because this newbie has learned a lot from you. congrats @silverfox! they already shipped? did you order it from silvergoldbull dot com? I ordered from dot ca. free shipping as well. APMEX stopped Canada business last year, I used to order coins from them with ridiculous shipping cost, not any more. so this is the coin that I feel I need to have one right after I saw the image. the other one is 2014 proof britannia. Royal Mint does have some very talented designers. |

@Yup, I do collect the Somalian Elephants as well the Benin! But I only discovered the Somalian Elephants in 2012  @Silverbug, I ordered from the Canadian site and that was on the 23rd of this month and wasn't expecting it until the 8th of Apr but to my surprise there was my email from them today, Shipped!  So they have them in stock now. So you should be getting an email soon. I fell in luv with this coin as soon as I seen it, Me being British as well has a bit to do with it. I also agree the 2014 proof Britannia is Stunning! I decided for the rest of this series I'm going to collect 1/4oz gold and 2oz Silver, one of each. I might get a tube tho of the 2oz Lion of England. Being the first coin of the series I might flip them on ebay and keep one.  |
