I hope you guys don't mind, but I have become interested in getting a higher end set of Roosevelts together while they are still asleep and relatively cheap. Since it is not graded much on this site, I thought it might be helpful to someone if I post up some slabbed coins as I acquire them. Let everyone practice grading a less popular series. Also, I have been changing my technique for photographing slabs, so any comments on the picture quality is helpful!

I've been exploring getting some rosies graded as well. This one looks like a 66+ but the reverse is so nice that I wouldn't be surprised seeing this in a 67 holder. If it's NGC, then I think you have a 67. Congrats on the nice looking coin!
Rest in Peace

I like your idea and am looking forward to honing my grading skills! So, for your pics, I'm having a hard time seeing the fields. I like the highlights on his face but I'm afraid if you brighten the image as a whole you will start blowing out them out. So for what I see now I'll go in at MS64. Hairline scratch in the hair, rim dings, bag marks on the letters and maybe something under his eye.

Looking forward to seeing more of your dimes!

OK, looking at the pictures, you are right. The fields were a bit too dark, and lightening the pic would just blow out highlights. I am trying to give a realistic depiction of the coin, without making little hairline scratches look like knife wounds! Fiddled with the set up some more, and this is what I have.

OK, here is the slab pic. Thanks for all who played along, I will have another slabbed coin up later, but for now, see if you can help me with the raw 1971 I already posted! Thanks again!
