This is another inherited coin that is stumping me in an identification. It is Bronze and weighs 7.87 grams. I can find images of similar coins, but the eagle is usually facing the opposite direction. The note with the coin is just what is in the subject line of this posting. Any information is appreciated.

280 bc would be Ptolemy II however I am yet to see a bronze which looks like the above example. As such I am going to guess it is a jeweler's replica.

Wow, this is a tough one. While eagles standing upon thunderbolts are plentiful among ancients, not so much right-facing eagles that also have a caduceus across their bodies (which is how I interpret the diagonal shape we see). The Seleukids did have right-facing eagles very similar to this one, but without caducei.

Although I cannot find an exact match, I think it's at least possible that this is from pre-Roman Amorium/Amorion (Phrygia), where bronzes with Zeus obverses and right-facing eagles with caducei across their bodies, standing upon thunderbolts, were documented. Similar, but not exactly like these:

It's definitely not on ptolemybronze...I looked carefully. I've tweaked the original pics a bit and am now convinced that the Forum link I provided is a close match...and at 7.9g. the weight matches too. Here's a comparison with reverse devices isolated at bottom:

I have been following this one with interest... at the start I would have wagered that Bob would come up with the goods... such a smarty pants!

A forum like this is such a great resource, makes me wonder how we managed before the internet.
