And if it isn't hammered or struck, is it even a coin?

I own a couple 2mm coins, but I'd need to see photos before I believe that a 0.44mm coin exists.

A 0.44 mm coin would need a 20X (or more) microscope objective to get a decent whole-coin image on a APS-size sensor. The stack increment would probably be just 1 micron. It would be interesting to see a sharp image of one of these coins.
