It's been 2 1/2 years since this post was written, so I'm not sure if you're still a member and/or will get this reply, but it does look like the date is doubled. It's not 100 percent, but looks probable, at least. Interesting that I came across this now as I just bought a '58 D with a clearly doubled date, and I haven't found anything online that mentions this variety. So for all I know it's a relatively rare occurrence -- or just one that doesn't garner much interest. Either way, I'm sure it doesn't add much value to the coin, if any. Still fun to find, though.
