The successful application means the Society will receive $20,000 in funding to hire personnel and purchase conservation materials, including 50 gallons of Brasso™, to conserve approximately 10,000 coins.

See http://www.anspocketchange.org/gran...large-cents/

Does this mean that ANS are going to ruin a collection of large cents by cleaning them with Brasso ?

Surely that can't be true !

I hadn't realised that it was an April Fool - nearly had a heart attack; was going to cancel my membership until I remembered that I hadn't resubscribed.

The protocol for webpages that are April Fools is to announce the fact after April 1 but ANS haven't done so.

It is probably very unlikely that the ANS put out that April fools video, which is why they haven't made such an announcement.

Pretty certain they made it ... they posted it to their Facebook page:

There should likely be something at the end of the video indicating that it's a joke though.
