Hi all,

I've got this Palestine 1940 100 mils coin that I like, and want to add to the official collection, which means I'd get it graded. There is this one green spot around 5:30 on the obverse and

I wanted to know if you knew what it was
and, if it would prevent an MS grade.

I assumed PVC and used acetone for 24 hours and nothing changed. It didn't even get smaller.

Thanks for your opinions!

Tough call, imho. Yours is much nicer than the 64 on the bay @ 279
There is even a cast forgery for $39.

Beautiful coin! I believe the green "spot" was the result of prolonged contact with another coin with a high copper composition which resulted in a Cu oxidation "stain".

As for effecting the grade, I would suspect the distracting "ding" between the right upper leaves would take away more than the "spot". Just my humble opinion.

Nice Mint State coin nonetheless!
