Picked from the LCS Junk Bin and the Quarter from a sale,
the three on bottom are business strikes. Will look for
PL strikes of them in future in bins. I see a
fingerprint on the dollar I have one in pliofilm to swap,
and I need a nice dime and nickel in PL. Something to
hunt down.

One man's junk bin is another man's treasure chest. Nice looking coins.

With a little help from Silverwolf this set is nearly
complete. The cent is still a business strike.
The dollar has been replaced with one from pliofilm, and
the nickel and dime came out of pliofilm as well. Liking
the new dime and nickel, the dollar is very clean on the
obverse, would grade well.

In 1980 I was working for a coin dealer in Toronto who was buying lots of silver to melt. You'd be amazed at what was being melted at the height. One thing I'll always remember is paying the same for proof and business strike Montreal Olympics coins. The silver content was the same, so the quality didn't matter. And any 1939 dollars less than AU got melted, too. In the lower denominations, even Unc. rolls back into the 1950s sometimes bit the dust. It was a wild time.
