So what are your strategies when a buyer makes an offer? I'm starting to think I should never accept an offer that's significantly lower than my asking price even if I'm making enough money on the item. The last 2 buyers didn't pay when I accepted the initial offer. Live and learn. The current joker will get an unpaid item case opened after two days. I accepted his offer, and even accepted his terms for additional return time.  I realize it's a bit of a crap shoot with buyer's offers, and sometimes I can get a feel for a buyer, and I can wing it, but then again maybe there has to be some set selling rules in place for certain situations. |

Hit them with a NPB. 2 or 3 of those and the buyer will find it difficult to continue on ebay. |

Every element, including BO offers, is geared toward the buyer.
I only sell with auctions, so I'm not familiar with the BO from the sellers standpoint, but I'd be surprised if you can leave a NPB for an accepted offer.
Check that, or if you can leave feedback yet. I'd be interested in knowing if you have any options at all.

Thanks, agree with everything said. @Mox...you can hit them for non-payment, so you can relist it after case closes. You can also let buyer off the hook by cancelling the order, which allows seller to relist immediately. The non-payment thing takes 4 days to close.

I just had a non payer. wait the 4 days and give them a strike. 2 of those and they won't be bidding on much of anything if the sellers have their preferences set to the max ( 2 Unpaid Item strikes within 12 Months). I always look at it as it helps all sellers.
You should see how many bidders were blocked through my buyer requirements log. I currently have 4 pages!
Amazing, and some have been around for years with very high feedback numbers.

Sorry to hear about your customer problems. Having said that...there are a lot of real buyers out there who look for the BIN or Best offer items. I am one of them.
While I never try to lowball anyone I ALWAYS shoot an offer when the option is there. Why not? If I can save a few bucks I will....But I also pay as soon as I know offer is accepted.

Got myself into a similar situation. Accidentally left pos. Feedback on a buyer that hasn't paid yet. I normally don't invoice until day 4 or 5. This time given the error on my behalf. I sent it out with a note expaining why he was being invoiced. And made note that I re-list after 7 days. And my error to avoid confusion.
That was this morning... I have yet to hear anything back. This was an auction style sale. First time it has happened to me.
