Hello,

I recently picked up a May 1884 Soldiers Home Fair token that has the Lord's Prayer on the reverse. I've been trying to research it to find out it's value because I'm going to end up selling it on ebay. I've searched the web and can only find one image of the same token on a pinterest link and it says the token sold on ebay for $500 but the listing must bee too old and I can't get it to load on ebay. Just wondering if anyone here can help me put a value on it or tell me how rare the token is so that I have a little better idea what to list it for on ebay. It's a really neat token and I like it but if I can sell it for a good price then I'll definitely let it go. Here are a couple pictures of it:

If I were you, I might list in on ebay as a buy it now/ make an offer.

Going this route lessens the risk of a low auction sale price.

In addition, I know there is a way when setting the BIN/Offer up to automatically reject offers below a certain amount that you specify. Doing this helps weed out the buyers that make lowball offers (e.g. offering $5 on a $100 item).

Best of luck whichever route you choose to take. Let us know how it turns out.

This token has cross-over appeal. On one hand there are collectors who seek GAR pieces, connected to the Civil War. On the other hand, this token has appeal to Christians and those who collect religious pieces of history. My guess as to value would be $40-$60 range. I've not seen this particular one before, but I've seen similar items change hands in that price range. If it showed a specific locality, I'd guess a higher value, as there are many collectors who seek pieces from their geographic area. Also, while this is a well-executed design, there is no appealing pictorial to enhance its appeal.
