I am missing the Seated dollars for my type set and have been tempted in the past (in the days when I had spare cash)to buy cleaned coins before to fill those holes because of the premiums this series brings. I can be cheap sometimes (wife's term I like to say a value hunter)...

Thusfar I have fought the urge... I can say if the right 'lightly' cleaned coin came along at the right price I'd be all over it.. I guess I figure if you got a good deal, you could always sell it for what you paid... may never make money but I guess I never collected to make money... My 2 cents...

Well, I pulled the trigger and bought it. It is an 1841--common date--but that's ok. I am retired, but have wanted one of these since a teen. I am certain I will be happy with the coin. Thanks for all the replies.

I am not collecting with the goal of selling. So that aspect is no problem. When I am gone, I will no longer have the problem (is that too cynical)

It would be interesting if the OP posted a pic and took a poll to see how many CCF members thought it to worth the $250 price, methinks ....

Perhaps, our OP will post pics when his coin arrives? Hope so!
