I look up the sale value for lincoln cents from website http://www.us-coin-values-advisor.c...ln-cent.html

The market is peeked around 2006.
Since then, the price has steady been dropping for almost 10 years.
While it is nice to fill up holes cheap than 10 years ago,
I wonder when the market will stabilize.
I know economy matters.
We have 8 years bull stock market, which does not help the coin market at all. Stock market has almost reached the end of bull, and another crash may happen at any time now.
My question is whether it is wise to hold buying key date coin now?

Me personally have been buying all the high graded coins I can. Also picked up some junk silver if things do get rough.

The coin market overall has not been in a 10 year downtrend and even with Lincolns they were going pretty strong through the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial issues. The balance of the coin market was good through the PM peaks in 2011. So I would say the downtrend is 5 years running at this time.

If you are asking if you should hold off on buying key dates then I would say no. It's a buyer's market right now and those flush with cash can find some very good deals out there. As many have noted the rarified air of the top 1% of the market has not been hit near as hard but assume you are not talking about buying 5 and 6 figure coins!

I am mostly thinking about buying key and semikey dates in MS64 grade. My own research found that price of all of the lincoln coins in this grade drops over the past 10 years. For some highest grade pops 66Red and 67 red, those are for the registry set buyers. Price of those are stable. But those are out of my budget range.
