Good morning, my first post is an enquiry into a possible coin error.
I recently sold through ebay a silver proof 10 Lari, 2000th Ann, the buyer asked if the coin was a forgery, being Georgian he was questioning the authenticity,
The coin is described on the Certificate and also by the Bank of Georgia as having an inscribed milled edge, the coins I had has an inscribed edge as detailed but Plain smooth edge.

Is anyone aware of this error, or indeed forgeries as the proofs are a very limited mintage
Thankyou in anticipation
Regards
John

For what I know about this coin, is that it is indeed a very limited mintage (1000 pieces), should be about 16 gram and have a diameter of about 28,5 mm.

The edge should read ' * GEORGIA * 10 LARI '. I see that yours reads ' TEN LARI ', which is different.

I do know that there is another 10 Lari commemorative coin of the same event, but it's made of copper-nickel, is about 10 mm extra in diameter and that one has indeed a milled edge (and also a very limited mintage of just 2000 pieces). Also, it reads ' TEN LARI ' on the edge.

I'm not sure about this silver coin, though. It's minted at The Royal Mint, so you may want to contact them and find out, maybe?
