Hello,

I just received this unique coin front the Canadian Mint. Wondering if there are more samples out there...

The colon is so obvious!

Wow...that's very interesting! Can you post a detail photo? Lacking a closer pic, it sure looks struck into the coin. If that's 3513/10000, other collectors should be able to easily check and determine a mintage for that : mark.

Oh, and
I also collect Canadian coins and post here often.

Hi Kurt!

This is the hard part with this coin; the relief is so thick I can't get a clear scan! I tried to get as close as possible with my camera...

Speaking of relief, this coin is absolutely awesome. The Mint claims that "slight inconsistencies in the quality of the surface are normal for this ultra-high relief process". But the coin that I have is flawless.

Also, I am noticing a kind of varnish on both surfaces so that the frosty relief looks glossy at certain angles. Interesting effect.

Good to see that detail, and it certainly looks like something that was created with the die, and not some kind of random flaw.
The RCM has been known to put small marks on coins to signify a hub/design change, but this one is very dramatic--why?
Lacking any more concrete info, I'll just say this: if other coins are found and it turns out to be a rare die variety, it will be valuable...that much is certain!

Yes quantity is crucial. I hope mine isn't unique.

I contacted the Charlton press and they asked for more info so I submitted some pictures. In the meantime I purchased one more sample - but of course no colon this time.
