I am working on my family genealogy and it turns out I am a descendant of a United Empire Loyalist (or traitor, tomato/tomato).

I always wondered why some people with PhDs put it at the end of their names when signing cheques or what have you but now I get it. Time to order 500 new bussiness cards with my new post nomials.

Do we have any other U.E.s on the forums?

I too have UEL ancestors. They came to Toronto from New York. My grandmother was very proud of her UE heritage, and made sure all her grandchildren were aware of it, both her parents were UE descendants. On her wedding banns, a copy of which I inherited, my great-grandfather is listed as Charles Green U.E.
