I had my eye on this one, but the appeal wasn't there for me. I was going to bid but I was out of the house and completely forgot about the auction. I did the same mistake last year. I thought it was a Friday/Saturday auction (same days as the expo) and not the actual Thursday/Friday dates.

Nonetheless, beautiful coin! Glad you picked it out :) To be honest, I had a feeling it was you who bid on it.

Edit: Did you get it back from ICCS as SWL?

Thanks :)

I'll probably be sending it for a hard slab with CCCS.

i considered bidding but the appeal just wasnt there for me either, no offense intended to you but the reverse is just too ugly for me. and I was worried about the gunk at the front of the canoe causing future problems. congrats though, please dont take offense CV, I dont want to sound like I'm trashing your latest triumph. maybe I could suggest sending her for conservation? you may be able to take care of the crud and lighten up the reverse a bit..

I did not want you to take offense either with my comment on the eye appeal. I would send it to CCCS for slabbing too. Just received my MS65 SWL about a month ago

No offense taken at all...i totally understand the appeal issue...i just wasn't sure when I'd see another MS66 again :)

I've never "restored" MS65-anything...

the highest I've gone is MS61 on silver and MS63 on copper

very true. its very possible it will be more attractive in person anyways..these things almost always have a nice luster, even when deeply toned.
