2005 D Lincoln 1c Double Ear Error?

Take a look at the side by side pic I shot of two 2005 D's and tell me what you think. Am I seeing what I want to see or is there something to this. madzdad71 Valued Member United States 377 Posts	Posted 02/20/2008 7:32 pm I see what you are looking at. The cent on the left has it's lobe rounded at the bottom and the one on the right is pointy and longer. Is that what you are seeing? Report this Post to the Staff

DantheGrey New Member United States 18 Posts	Posted 02/21/2008 2:26 pm Thanks for the responses. I will try to get closeup of ear shot. Coin on the right has a definite seperation of the lobe. Just something I spotted while doing my daily coin inspections. Maybe I can find another one of these to support the theory. Report this Post to the Staff
foundinrolls Pillar of the Community United States 3507 Posts	Posted 02/21/2008 9:12 pm If it is that little depression on the earlobe, it is not a doubled die. I see that quite often on cents. It's just a small nick. It may have something to do with how the coin ends up counted and rolled. Report this Post to the Staff
