I just received a 1985 $1 bill in change at a diner.
It's no big deal, but for it to last this long in circulation is pretty impressive to me. Yes it's beat up pretty good.

What's the oldest bill you all found in circulation?

There is a pre-existing thread on old bills found in circulation, but if you want to know the oldest bills I've found, I got a bunch of 1950 $5 and $10 bills my bank teller saved me that were all uncirculated and some had consecutive serial numbers.

I once found a crisp 1988 $10 in circulation. Somebody folded it, though.

It's cool to get old currency in change in my opinion. I think it's a little different than finding old bills through the bank or strap searching.

I am SO old that small-size brown seals (both National Bank Notes and Federal Reserve Bank Notes) were frequently seen when I was a kid.

This is true - ask any gummer.

Several years ago , managing a restaurant, I received a few 1934 federal reserve 10 & 20 notes .I also had a red seal $100 from 1963 ( I think) - saved it awhile but had to spend it...

My best ones:
1928 $2
1953 $2
1957 $1 silver certificate (x2, in the same transaction)
1950 $10

I have seen 1934 $10s on multiple occasions, but never bought any...they were always too mangled or were already claimed by a co-worker.

Back in 2012 I my teller found me a numerical 1928 $20 FRN from Chicago alongside 7 35 e and f and 57 a's and b's series one's. Second oldest find for me was a 1934 B series hundred in 2008 which means it's likely from around late 1945-46.
