I am new to this forum and I bought this coin in a auction lot on ebay with 6 coins I want to know if its real and the type of coin this is.

I haven't seen a coin like this the only place was like a Japanese coin collecting website.

How big is it? It looks gargantuan. I think it is modern-made, based on the apparent size and the form of the characters.

Its 3.25 inchs by 2 inches.

Very large denomination (100-200+) Mon coins were made by many private mints in the 1800s. I have seen scores of similar ones on ebay. They are often VERY often faked, because it is easy to do.

I generally assume all "picture coins" to be Chinese fakes until proven otherwise.
