It became part of the Delhi sultanate and later went under the Mughals. Later, when Marathas took control of that region, Orchha retained partial independence. In the nineteenth century it became part of the British Empire. Now it is part of the state of Madhayapradesh. Coins of Orchha look similar to Datia state coins that were imitated from Orchha. It remained independent until 1807.AD and then went under British protection.Now it is located in the state of Madhyapradesh.
