Got this interesting piece in a mixed lot of ancient coins:

In the neighborhood of 20-22mm and probably around 3g (didn't have my tools with me when I took the photo.

Google has turned up nothing remotely close.

I believe your 'angel' is actually a 'spread eagle'. It is difficult to trace, as you say, and this Nabatean coin is the closest I have found - though the weight and diameter are a little smaller than your coin.
