Hello,

Why was there no Eisenhower dollar in the 1971 or 1972 Proof Sets even though they minted proofs in both years? The Eisenhower dollar did not first appear until 1973's Proof Set.

The proofs minted in 1971 and 1972 were 40% silver and were offered separately. I am not sure why they did not mint clad proofs (for the normal proof sets) in those years, but I think it has been posted before. I will take a look.

Although it discusses mint sets, I am sure the logic applies to proof sets as well...

I knew you mentioned proof sets because that is how I found it in my search. I guess I was too fixated on TheForce saying "mint sets."
