That fantastic grading forum does not treat the dollar coin and I have relied on general guidance for Eii coins. On that basis I judged this to be PL-65, Type 4 pointed five large bead variety. The scans do not show the brilliant-light-reflecting background. I am probably wrong but I would like to be right and learning. Advice sought.

The coin shown is a business strike . That said there are indeed PL 1965 type three Large Beads Blunt 5 and type 4 large bead Pointed 5 silver dollars available.
The 2016 ICCS pop report shows Type 3 Heavy Cameo 182 pieces type 4 195 pieces. There are 15 Ultra Heavy Type 3 and a single Type 4. In cameo there are 74 type 3 and 196 type 4.
These were only available to a few special nudge nudge wink wink dealers through the back door back of the mint in 1965. They came in the cellophane wrapping often found on the single sale 1960 through 1962 PL dollars.
Gatewest just ran a special on some they had in the CCN. Very pricey but readily available. Hope this helps. Look at this 191887435729

Not bad information SilverDon. You would be very surprised at how few collectors knew of these pieces.
One thing is clear the study of Canada Silver Dollars has a long way to go. One of the groups sadly lacking in their knowledge is PCGS and the other US services in the description of PL Proof and Specimen Dollars .
There are even 4 or 5 Graded ICCS PL type V Medium Beads Dollars .
