I don't know anything about coin stores in the London area
BUT
Oddly enough there's a "Guest Commentary" in the latest Coin World (June 27, 2016) about a Saturday morning setup in an underground parking garage between the Charing Cross and Embankment Underground stations.
Smallish (15-20 dealers) but it sounds like a place I'd at least would want to take a look at.

Dom , will try to help a little. The Saturday morning Charing Cross Market is a great start. Should tell you that retail coin shops are few and far between these days in London though.
Two fellows who are good guys and fair Malcolm Bord on Charing X Road and Phil Cohen a little further up from Malcolm. Other than that mostly auctions DNW , Baldwins , Spinks, or coin fairs .
In Birmingham the guys at Formst Gary and David. Hope this Helps.

As Pacificoin has mentioned bricks and mortar coin shops are rare as hens teeth. You sometimes get a coin stand in an antique centre and usually rubbish. Most over counter deals are done at Coin fairs. If you google Coin fairs UK you will get a selection over the country. My personal favourite is the Midland coin fair at the motorcycle museum (near the NEC).Cash is still king at Coin fairs.
Charing Cross market is still going strong,it also has other collectables.Use cash and haggle hard.
I have favourite online dealers, use auctions (usually ends in tears).Of course the internet is your friend and I'm still stumbling accross good dealers and auctions world wide.
Enjoy your stay and some how don't think you will get bored.

PS if you go to a fair take a loupe with a LED light and eat plenty of carrots.

Between Charring Cross Road and St Martins Lane is a little street called "Cecil Place" which has a rather good banknote/cigarette card dealer called Colin Narbeth and Sons. As I recall a few of the shops in this little parade sell coins and medals, and there is a coin shop just around the corner.

As has been said there aren't many bricks and mortar establishments in London but the bulk of them can all be found around this area. So just take a wander around there.
