How many zeros should there be for a bill to be considered a low serial number?

3 is an semi-rare, four is rare and five is extremely rare. Any more and it'd be worth a whole lot.

Yup thats about right! I found a $5 note with 4 zeros in front and found a $1 note to match it in a different forum. Its really hard to find low circulated notes.

Thanks! I just found one in change with 3 zeros and wondered if it was worth keeping.

I'd only hang onto 3 leading zeroes if the note is UNC or better. 4 zeroes, I'd hang on as long as it's VF or better. 5 zeroes, I'd hand onto it no matter what, but if it's less than F, it may take a very long time before it sees a premium. 6 zeroes ore more, even the lowest grades will probably see a premium today.
