It's OK

What Commems called "gems are in the eye of the beholder", you justified by having ability to afford.

I suppose one advantage of being "on the other side of the hill" is that the vast majority of trade mark NCLT Items advertised by RCM are of no interest to me whatsoever, whether I could afford them or not. Frozen just reminds me of how I often feel in winter.

Silver lucky loonie arrived yesterday. I think it's one of the better silver Olympic loons.

Another great discussion with my favorite posters. Many valid points of view raised. I some new releases on the Canada Day coin show. The concave basketball coin looked nice, however, not nice enough for the price. I do like the 13 coin Canada 150th anniversary set. I will order a set for a keep sake, the box is fantastic. I do have the other sets, purchased off ebay, since I started collecting in 2012 canada day coin show. I took a break since Mar. I'm saving money for the coins that will celebrate the 150th anniversary. My kid eats $300 a month in groceries and has nothing to show for it. I will spend less monthly on on coins and will have them to pass down to his kids.

Its all a matter of perspective, he spent $18 on pie making ingredients yesterday, and today the pie plate is empty. He loves cooking and food!! I see it as a neccesity and would rather do it as cheaply as possible. So 2 different people and 2 seperate approaches to living. I believe coin collecting is much the same adventure. However, we should be aware who has the best prices, so more bang for the buck.

Sounds like one nice pie. Strawberry rhubarb might be worth trading a couple coins for.
Although coins are sometimes bought to be left for future generations, those same future generations greatly reduce the number of coins bought. I Wish I could leave the $1,000,000 face coin the RCM made for my kid.
