When I look at someone's profile it shows their recent topics. Do the topics on this list represent the topics the person has commented on or have read only? Or even something else?

Also is there a way to follow someone?

Those are topics the person has posted in. But the list is not necessarily in the order that the person posts in, the list is sorted by "most recent post made", whether that recent post was made by the member in question or not. Thus, the profile of a member who stopped posting years ago might show one of the large, old megathreads as a "recent topic".

There isn't any way to follow a particular person's posts, sorry.

I occasionally follow another members numismatic interests, and add to the areas which they may have recently posted.

It is a good way to learn more.

I believe I'm going to add "follow" functionality over the next few days. We took it away in the beginning because we had a stalking issue with one member but I think we're better than that now. If it happens again we'll just make sure the offending member goes away.
