I'm going to make an analogy that may or may not apply to your question.
If I get to the point I ask my woman, "are you cheating on me?" the problem is this.
1. I probably wont believe the answer
or
2. I wont like the answer.
(or 3. She wont answer)
So, if I'm not going to believe the answer or like the answer, there's no real point in asking that question.
I think of this equation when I wonder, after my experience with so-called, "unsearched" coins. One of my mentors, long ago, conveyed this concept to me;
"Jim, if you have to ask, the answer is NO"
I hate to seem so cynical. Before I answered you I did a search on "unsearched wheat cents" on google and Mozilla. The first hits were on
ebay. Next was a lot of 400 cents, 1909 - 1958, that were unsearched. Do I believe it?
Do I have to ask the question?
Now, the best course of action, in my not-so-humble(?) opinion is to keep your eyes peeled during real time life encounters with coins. I wont dissuade you from trying your luck on Ebay/the Internet. Temperance in trust, faith, and (yes)gullibility is the middle road. For me, the middle road is an aspiration.
