could someone help please, pretty sure this is a Nuremberg counter but I cant find it listed in Mitchener, the crown on the french shield is totally different to anything I could see.

There are two volumes of the Mitchiner set to consult. Both Volume I, The Medieval Period and Nuremberg, and also Volume II with France and the Low Countries. My guess is this a French-Style "Shield" jeton made in Nuremberg for export to France, hence the French symbols on a very Nuremberg-looking jeton. See Volume I, Page 355, French Shield Jetons circa 1500 - 1525, and subsequent sections. You may yet match up the legend to an image to get who made it and when. The row of four annulets plus one on each side of the shield may be a quick key to get close.
