I feel like such a goof but the ones without the mint mark are from Philly right?

I know what you mean. I've been just really starting to see lots of 2007's. I think hoarders are wiping them all out of circulation. No 2008's yet.

I think the reason is this coin collecting boom has made an excessive amount of coin hoarders, not collectors. Every once in a while someone post photos of their massive amount of rolls of cents. Idiots think if they corner the market on, say cents, they someday will have a fortune in Zinc.

i agree... who's going to get rich on zinc? they must resell the coins within the next 12 months based on popularity value...then the coin will be worth whatever zinc is worth

Justcarl, if the cents they are hoarding are in fact, ZINC, then yes, you have a point!
Personally, I prefer copper.

I received two 2008D pennies in change yesterday. They are my first 08's in change. I was thrilled to be able to fill a hole in my album until I noticed that one had a huge scratch in the obverse and the other had a nasty black fingerprint on the reverse!
I guess I'll keep looking...
