So I have finally comitted to starting a custom folder for some of my coins, organized as a series of 2x2 flips with ID info in a few album pages. I have plenty of 2x2 cardboard flips, but I am looking for something that will allow me to easily remove, upgrade, and rearrange as the set grows and evolves.

I know that I need to find the non-PVC flips, but I have heard conflicting things about saflips versus rigid vinyl. What's the scoop / where should I buy them? I am looking to keep costs as low as possible for coin storage, to leave more in my budget for actual coins!

FWIW, the finished product will be a Japanese type set, consisting of everything from Tokugawa coinage (cash of varying sizes and gold/silver bars) through modern pocket change and commemoratives. The earlier coins will include the very large 100 mon (which should barely fit in a 2x2 at a 45° angle) and the extremely thick (5-8mm thick) mameita gin. For that reason, I am leaning away from the rigid flips and toward something more flexible.

Thanks for any help and input!

Just be careful of what you buy. You've probably by now noticed most flips do not have a manufacturers name on them. Most of the cardboard ones and many of the plastic ones I have do not have a name of who made them.
