Pic is taken without the top of the capsule (because it arrived not sealed ). http://www.mint.ca/store/coins/coin-prod2730027 Not the worst design I've seen but not exactly one of my favourites either. Low COA number (under 100). I wonder if they have implemented that benefit for MC or if it was just coincidence.

Thanks for sharing the image. Mine should be on its way. Quote: Not the worst design I've seen but... I agree. This type of illustration-style design would likely work well on a large, full-color poster, but it suffers quite a bit when presented on the small "canvas" of a coin. IMO, it loses its design cohesiveness with so many small images shoe-horned onto it.

Thank you for picture, CC-Ottawa
The logos made good, all other elements - totally average, Imo.
Unless you are not SD collector - maybe better to return the coin?

That would have been significant. BTW, it came via Purolator and for some reason, they just left it in the mail box at my front door - didn't ring the bell or get a signature, yet Monday, I had to sign for $25 worth of loonies. Go figure.

I'm looking forward to receiving mine but I notice the status is still "processing". Although the design does appear somewat busy, it's different from any others and I'm partial to the interesting diversity within the SD series.

Received my SD today. I had to order through a third party since the RCM was not shipping this one outside of Canada due to licensing agreements for the included logos. Even in person, the coin fails to impress me. I still find the design to be very average and uninspired. By definition, not every coin in a series collection (e.g., the SD series) can be above average. I would rate this one no higher than the mean. Good luck to Canada's athletes!

Still waiting for mine, ordered June 17th, status "processing", no indication of when it's expected to be shipped. I ordered a couple of other smaller items but all are indicated to be available so I'm stumped. Attempted to call RCMs 1-800 number "due to higher than average calls.....wait time 45 minutes". I guess I shall continue waiting...for me this is but another typical experience with RCM and their low level of customer service.

wildflowerAB you highlight one thing that I wish the Mint would fix and I'm sure other MC members would really appreciate. I ordered on June 20, a day after you. My order had three items. All were delivered separately, and the latest was this SD on 6th. Yet you ordered before me and still haven't received yours. I get that I'm probably physically located closer to the Mint but that doesn't account for the Mint not shipping FIFO. That is, first orders should be the first orders shipped. (is it possible that you are not MC and the Mint is shipping to MC first? I doubt it but I suppose it's possible) I'm always disappointed when I know I order before others yet they receive their coins before I do. It seems like an absolute no brainer that good customer service demands that orders be fulfilled in order. BTW, this also leads into the discussion on low numbered COA's. Assuming that production, low COA numbers and shipping are somehow related (personally I don't believe they are) wouldn't that mean that the lowest numbers would go to dealers since they get the coins before any of us? For a time, it was very common to find low COAs at Canada Post. Of course, that is anecdotal evidence at best. In any case, hopefully your coin arrives before the Games begin.

@ CC. If I was willing to spend 45 minutes on hold I might find out what the problem is. LOL! My loonie 5pack was a part of this order also and was immediately shipped, why, makes no sense. No, I'm not a MC member but if I were a new customer, RCMs manner of poor customer service certainly wouldn't entice me into spending a thousand or more. I can't recall any other online store not providing an approximate shipping date whatsoever. I do hope my coins, both the SD and silver loon, arrive before the games are over.

Oh joy. Yesterday I submitted an email inquiry under the dropdown menu of "Shipping-Products on Backorder" asking RCM to kindly advise what items within my June 17th order were back ordered and when shipping was anticipated. No reply but what a coincidence -- today I happen to get a shipping notice for everything.

Agree with the "not exactly my favorite" crowd. Quote: BTW, it came via Purolator and for some reason, they just left it in the mail box at my front door - didn't ring the bell or get a signature, yet Monday, I had to sign for $25 worth of loonies. Go figure. Probably because of possible postal disruption at the time you received it.The no signature was no doubt imprinted in the bar code but not visible. Because of where it came from. I work there

the design is rather un-thrilling to me, but if I liked everything they produced I'd be in trouble :)

The package arrived today, n/c as my order was over $100, expedited shipping from Ontario to Alberta in only 5 days over a weekend? That's a totally amazing postal journey! The SD is not not quite as outstanding as I might have imagined, but it will nicely fill a slot in the SD collection, just having finally got the other empty spaces filled this past year. The upper portion of the capsule for my SD was loose as well, just like CC's. Interestingly, my COA is #601/10000. So......I must ask the question --- does that make it worth more money? <just joking!!>
