What's nice about "In God We Trust" printed on currency is it is exemplary of the axiom,
"In God we trust (all others pay cash)"

I'm all for the statement being on the coins. I am a Christian. But, I also try not to be a nut-job. I replied to one of these emails with the statement that we Christians aren't supposed to be in the gossip-spreading business. It is up to us to check the facts before sending such emails. That's called being responsible. Anyway, that's my take.

Write back and tell them that I am paying TWO dollars for every un-altered Presidential dollar coin they can find without the motto.

Where I work, one of my co-workers printed an e-mail like that, this one blaming the democrats,of which I am one, and saying not to accept them until the motto is put back on "like it has been since the country was founded." I asked if it was a joke and he said no. It was nice to see his face when I explained the 2 falsehoods he was spreading.

Thats pretty funny b/c In GOD WE TRUST was not even added until 1864 on to the Two Cent coin! I just think it is not very inteligent to speak before you reaserch something. Check the link http://www.ustreas.gov/education/fa...-trust.shtml

I trust in God, I like it on our currency. Let us not forget one important aspect of what this great country was founded on.

For me, the most important aspect our country was founded on is Liberty. Liberty has always been, and should always be on our coins. Even if the word is not on the Presidential dollars, Liberty is represented (personally, I would have preferred the word). Liberty on our coinage is more important than the Motto because that is our greatest right. Also, I am one that believes it is best to go to God, not be brought to Him by legal mandate. Just MHO. However, I will add that the Motto does not offend me one bit!

Another important aspect is our constitution, which having "God" on our coins violates.

Yeah, I'd prefer to not have "In God We Trust" (I can't really trust in something I don't believe in) on our coinage, but I don't see that ever happening while the greater majority of the population believes in some sort of higher power, and that the slogan belongs on our money.
Besides, since when has the Constitution ever mattered - to quote Richard Nixon's head from Futurama, "UNCONSTITUTIONAL!? Well then, we'll go to a place where the constitution doesn't matter" - they then cut to the supreme court. Man, that was a good episode...
