I found these two nickels together, one after another. Was there a dot variety this year? I have seen few different ones with dot while searching the web but nothing in this areas. Would this classify as a dot? I was just curious because it was marked on both coins, almost exact spot. As well with the dots is it better to take photos from an angle? What's best way to detect dots?

thanks guys,

It is probably just a die chip, I think there are people that collect them, but not much of a premium

Which year was your dime rocky?

I actually found 5 total, when I finished inspecting through the whole roll. I believe it was an original bank roll from that year. All of the 5c pieces are mint state.

Vatreni my dime is a 1968. it is in a uncirculated set from the mint. a young man in our club got a box of nickels from the bank. the the box is full of rolls of 1968 uncirculated 5 cent pieces. these nickels are mint. the young man opened 4 rolls. there is an error on every nickel. a bunch of us has searched for this error. it is not listed any where. plus all the club members has never seen this error before. they told him to be very careful. every roll at one end or the other there is a 1968 mint nickel. every roll looks exactly the same. I know there is a coin dealer. that has offered him very good money for these nickels.it will be interesting to see what he does with them. you have a very nice find there Vatreni
