I found this coin or token and cannot identify it. Has anyone seen it before? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The only thing I can think of would be a Chinese fantasy coin. I've never seen one like that.

It's not a coin. It also doesn't look like a token for a specific purpose (for example, for a transit system or to advertise business).

There are a large number of round objects created by non-official Chinese mints. Some are good coin forgeries, some are bad coin forgeries, and some have no relationship to coins. This appears to be one of the later. (It could be non-Chinese, but from the symbols that seems unlikely.)

Interesting. Do you think it serves a purpose or is just for decoration?

They cost $0.25 to make and sell to tourists for $2 each. That's reason enough.

It looks cool, but has little to no value.

On the front looks like Nezha a Chinese deity and on the back the words read; "Journey to the West". Might be some sort of souvenir piece ?

I have no idea who would have given it to me, so I can't even guess from where out came.

The mystery is solved! This is a souvenir medal. Thanks to my Japanese friend recognizing that the characters referred to the classic Chinese text Journey to the West I was finally able to find it. Thanks for the help, guys!

The Chinese make hundred of different types of "fantasy dollars" - things that kind of look like coins, but no genuine coins actually existed with that design. Figures from Chinese mythology such as this one) are common, as well as historical figures such as emperors, philosophers, poets etc. They are often sold in "sets" in a descriptive album, but are also sold individually as well. Anything to make the tourists part with their money.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
