So I have been collecting them for years. I am still learning as I have been using TPG graded halves to learn what Cameo, Deep Cameo, and Grades are. I look to them for guidance and expertise to attempt to grade them myself.

Here is the dilemma. I have PR67,68,and 69 DCAM halves of the years 1968,1969, and 1970. Yes I have a few SMS but those are another animal all together. There is no consistency and at the cost of grading them, it is unacceptable.

What I was missing was a PR69DCAM 1968-S. Well I finally got one after bidding on at least 8 of them. They are the hardest to get of the three. What I got was a PCGS graded coin (the best right?).

I get it in and look at it. It is nice but.....so I get out my previous highest graded 1968, a PR68 Ultra Cameo from NGC. I was shocked, I called the wife and had her look, I asked my brother and hands down the NGC PR68 is better then the PCGS PR69. yes I have looked and the grade is what it is, the NGC in my eyes grades better and it is a PR68. It can not be seen well enough from a picture but there are no significant differences in the 'dings' in the coins, none but for sure, 100% sure the NGC is GRADES of Cameo higher. I am not expert but I am not ignorant of what I am looking for either, at least I do not think so.

See what you think,

Here is the best way I can describe what I am seeing,

The PCGS cost more, a LOT more.

This is a great example of buy the coin not the label....eBay is a gamble without good pics.

I have no one to blame but me, but I would guarantee you that if you collect Kennedy's and was given the change to pick of these, there is no doubt which one you would pick.

Thoughts?

I do agree with you, based on the pictures you posted the NGC coin does look better.

This is just one more reason added to a rather long list as to why I do not and will not buy anymore coins on ebay. This does not present a problem for me as there are several LCS and coin shows in my area. I feel bad for my fellow collectors that have few other options when they want to purchase a coin.
