and don't forget about the next generation of collectors. While a 79 Kennedy might not be all that big a deal to us today, 20 years from now that coin will be half a century old! It'd be like finding a wheatie today--not worth more over face but still a great find.

I've actually seen a couple nickels (of all things) in my recent search that have a giant X through the obverse. I know its a identification mark of some kind but I get insulted everytime I see an X through ol' Jefferson's grim mug!

No respect, no respect at all I tell ya!

i had a tragic moment with my friend, he had a black sharpie marker, and completely wrote all over a 1960 quarter (all over the obverse, and reverse of the coin), It surprised him when I flipped out at him lol I still mourn the loss of that quarter

When I was doing my Quarter rolls I found one roll that every coin had red spray paint on both sides .I was doing 5 rolls at a time at a time . (A little off topic )I got 5 rolls that had 8 Pennys in each roll .I took them back to the bank and they said they got a box like this .(WoW) They refunded my money .

Seeking:Dont even think about it

I search thousands of coins. defacing them is not only wrong but its a crime. Plus who knows who is out there trying to assemble a set and gets the coin they need in bu and it has sharpie in red across its obverse its sick.
