In my latest dream, I go to the bank and ask... so do you have anything unusual for me this week? foreign coins, half dollars, etc.?
The teller says yes, indeed! I've got a bunch of stuff that you can buy at face value. It was just dropped yesterday by just carl's son.

More seriously, what are the best ways to prevent sad scenarios where children or loves ones are being ripped off by selling a collection for a fraction of its value? I doubt even the dumbest would bring coins to the bank if they were organized in some way, 2X2 or else, but I bet often family member just get bullion value because someone takes advantage of their lack of knowledge.

Leave detailed instructions including acquisition cost and ''current'' value? educate family members/children about the hobby? There are probably existing threads on this topic so I'll do some research too.

I have this dream where every member of CCF sends me the one best coin in their collection.

Everyday I sit by my mailbox waiting for my packages of coins.

I am thinking everyone must have lost my address ..

GR58,
I haven't lost your address...
just that I can't decide which is the best coin in my collection.

I had a dream about this one last night...

https://goccf.com/t/266935

I told Type I would sleep on it and I suppose I did as it kept popping up in my dreams. That convinced myself that I needed it, only to find that it was sold overnight.

Oh well. Maybe I will dream about something else tonight.

My comment is that if you are having dreams about coins (I do, but not often), you qualify as a "real" collector.

I was redaing this thread just before sleep yesterday and it inspired my dream.
I dreamt that I had a roll of 1909 US cents and some voice told me to check for VDB. But upon closer look those coins had all sorts of strange markings, initials and symbols I didn't understand.
Funny I dreamt of VDB, since I have no special interest in those :)

Sounds like an interesting dream.

I always have a difficult time reading things in my dreams and apparently that is a thing. In the final episode of Houdini & Doyle, Houdini wrote on a piece of paper, "If you can read this, you are not dreaming" so that he can tell whether or not he was dreaming (when something preternatural was happening).
