One of the things I wanted to ask is how different toning colors can add values to coins, pennies in this case? Even if the grade is not outstanding.

There is quite a bit of variance, in terms of colors on different pennies. Does it really depend on the person that will buy it in that case? As well combining the grade.

I attached couple pictures, few things I kept aside as I went through some coins.

Colours make no difference in grading or value
Pennies are classified as Red (RD), Red and Brown (RB), and Brown (BN) and these classifications are considered part of the grade and affect pricing.

Unless you find a collector willing to pay extra for nice toning it won't change anything.
Also quite a few pennies exhibit nice toning so it isn't extremely rare.

I think your 48 (assuming coins in same position
.48 bottom right?) is "A" to denticle but make sure
it's not Small denticle .
Also on same coin is that a Die Crack under the Kings
neck? If so its a beauty !

Grading and toning are completely independent of each other.
Ugly toning may reduce the value, some (not all) may pay more for attractive toning.

Thanks for the explanations on toning colors guys.

Canacoins. Hi ((48 penny))

Yea it is to the A, but I'm not sure about the denticles are they small? I didn't think so at first.

It does like a die crack, when I zoomed in 10x under magnifying glass, it looks another denticle exists right in the gap that the crack goes into. A very small denticle.

Just as a side comment. This is where the grading methodology between ICCS and PCGS/NGS varies greatly when it comes to copper. Where as PCGS/NGC will almost completely disregard copper toning when assigning grade. There are some stunningly beautiful Canadian large cents graded MS65 in dark brown sitting in PCGS holders. You would be hard pressed to find any BN coins graded over MS63 in two letter holders unless they toned in them. Saying that, ICCS seems to have recently relaxed the color standard and I have seen some MS64 coins graded BN.
