Could anyone give me any clue whether this medallion is worth anything please. Maybe South African Dutch? Width is about 5 cms.

Thanks for the replaies everyone - history - it's in a box of stuff from my mother-in-law who recently passed away in KZN, S Africa, and has a ring affixed with a leather strap so it was worn as a necklace I think. Don't know what the letters are stamped on the back - I wondered if they referred to the metal?

I have no idea of the maker or such but it looks like an inexpensive cast lead alloy that was gold washed.

Could be a jewlery piece depicting a folk story
