Will Ncg Slab A Coin Missing The Date?

aristarchus123 Pillar of the Community United States 1695 Posts	Posted 07/28/2016 09:03 am I was looking at an online NCG brochure and came across the following line "ILLEGIBLE DATE is self-explanatory. If the exact date cannot be determined for any reason, then the coin is not eligible for grading." My question is this: will NCG grade a coin whose date of issue is determined only by diagnostics other than date (E.g., raised mound for type-1 Buffalo nickel)? I doubt they would if they have to determine the variety to determine the date. For example one year only types such as 1793 Half Cents, chain cents, wreath cents, 1796 quarters etc. Report this Post to the Staff
